Re: [T3] Smoking ignition
I have a starter relay using a rear window/F.I./pump relay, and
http://www.glenn-ring.com/tech/relay_starter.htm to install it. The only
differance is I installed another fuse box, and used that for the fuse, not
an inline. Before my idle speed changed (reset, and wish there is a way to
get it right), the engine would start with a light touch.

Rebuilding involves removing the contact button, cleaning the contacts and
carving out all the burned bakelite and filling it in with slow set high
strenth epoxy. You then need to get the current out of there with a relay
to operate the solenoid. Any high current relay, 12V, should work. a horn
relay for instance.

What is the process of rebuilding the switch? And if the switch is fried and
can be rebuilt, I now think I have only two options: (i) buy a set from ISP
West, or (ii) use a new generic switch under/in the dash. And, by the way,
what kind of relay are we talking about here? Where would this be located
and if I don't have it, how do I go about getting and installing one?
Thanks
Rik
